Water Sensitive Urban Design

Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) is about integration of water cycle management into urban planning and design. WSUD projects include the design and installation of gross pollutant traps, stream grading, erosion management, installation of gabion structures, storm water dispersion aprons, bio filtration areas, planning for storm water surges, design of retention systems, roof water capture and treatment wetlands.

Key issues include siltation, pollution and erosion as well as management of peak storm water flows and aesthetic improvements to landscape features.

Millin EMS has provided scoping and implementation of Water Sensitive Urban Design elements for Kingborough Council, Lewis Marine and private subdivision developments. Projects included scoping, design, costing and assistance with funding applications. Management of construction activities was also undertaken.
